Image files can end up scattered all over the hard drive, in numerous folders, and you can end up not finding the pictures you're looking for or stumbling upon old ones. ImageRanger can show you all the pictures on your hard drive, from recent photos, down to pictures you didn't know they were there. Furthermore, the software places a wide range of smart filtering options at your disposal, including facial recognition, as well as a series of special tools, for finding and removing duplicates, merging folders and much more.

You can try ImageRanger for free, for a limited time, without any noticeable restrictions. The software runs on all modern Windows systems, without any compatibility issues. It doesn't require any additional tools, and it doesn't ask for a significant amount of resources.

The main user interface is like an Explorer window, but with more options and a much sleeker design. You can navigate through your local folders in a tree structure, on the left side, but you will only see their contained pictures in the larger area on the right. You can even select an entire disk or partition and the software will display all pictures on that drive, regardless of their path. Additionally, ImageRanger will index all your images, to display them faster in the future.

Once the interface is populated with pictures, you may switch between different view modes and zoom levels, select one, several or all files and, more important, apply various filters. The program lets you sort your pictures by keywords, time, rating, resolution and many other criteria. What's more, you can even make use of a facial recognition system and sort your pictures by people. In other words, if you are looking for a picture of uncle Bob, you can simply type his name and all pictures of him will show up instantly.

Besides its varied filtering options, ImageRanger comes with multiple advanced search options, which can help you find illustrations, portraits, low-quality images and other items. This can be quite useful for separating actual images from random icons that no one is using anymore or graphical items downloaded by your browser. You can also run a duplicate finder or a folder merging tool, to remove useless image copies and save some disk space, add special effects on your photos, to give them a special look, or perform various batch operations to save time.

There's a whole plethora of useful tools and features to find in ImageRanger, which can save you from serious headaches when you need to organize your photos.

Pros

The software's interface has a modern, sleek and familiar design. It provides you with a wide range of searching and filtering options. Its facial recognition feature enables you to sort pictures by people.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to address.
